We have carried out a systematic review of randomised controlled trials involving lithium in order to assess the evidence regarding the efficacy of lithium in the prevention of suicide and DSH. We are currently updating this review. The protocol was revised in October 2011. Download pdf of updated protocol.
We have also conducted a review of the general efficacy of lithium in the prophylaxis of mood disorders with Dr. Sally Burgess, Dr. Andrea Cipriani, Heather Wilder, Professor John Geddes, Professor Guy Goodwin and Professor Kay Jamison under the auspices of the Depression, Anxiety and Neurosis Review Group of the Cochrane Collaboration.
